Issue Repeater for Jira · Runs on Atlassian

Recurring Jira issues that never miss, never duplicate.

Issue Repeater creates your recurring issues, subtasks, and templates right on schedule — with a reliability engine that catches up missed runs and guarantees exactly one issue per occurrence. And it runs entirely on Atlassian, so your data never leaves Atlassian's cloud.

Everything you need to automate recurring work

A clean recurrence builder on top of a reliability engine — the features that matter, none of the clutter.

Flexible recurrence

Daily, weekly, monthly, or every-N. Weekday chips, nth-weekday, time and timezone, ending on a date or after N runs — with a live plain-English preview.

Never miss a run

A catch-up engine recovers occurrences that were due while the app was paused or between runs. Nothing slips through the cracks.

Never duplicate

Idempotency safeguards guarantee exactly one issue per occurrence — even under retries or overlapping runs.

Reusable templates

Summary, description, assignee, priority, labels, components — plus dynamic tokens like {{date}} and {{month}} that resolve on every run.

Subtasks & custom fields

Create subtasks under each issue and set any create-screen field, including relative due dates ("N days after creation") that never go stale.

Run history & alerts

A per-schedule log links to every created issue, and clearly surfaces the moment a run needs your attention.

Engineered for reliability

Scheduling an issue is easy. Creating it reliably — never missing a run, never firing twice — is where it gets hard. Issue Repeater is built around a catch-up windowing + idempotency engine.

  • Never miss. On every heartbeat it processes the exact window since it last ran and creates everything that became due — even after a pause or outage.
  • Never duplicate. Each occurrence writes an idempotency marker, so a retry or overlap can never create a second issue.
  • Isolated failures. One schedule erroring never stops the others — it's logged and surfaced, not swallowed.

How it works

Set it up once. It runs forever.

1

Build a schedule

Pick a project and issue type, craft a reusable template, and set the cadence with a live preview.

2

It runs on Atlassian

Because it runs entirely on Atlassian (no data egress), the engine uses Atlassian's 5-minute scheduler — so issues arrive within ~5 minutes of your chosen time, in your timezone, never early and never missed.

3

Issues appear

Your recurring issues and subtasks show up automatically — every time, and exactly once.

Your data never leaves Atlassian

Issue Repeater is a Forge app that runs entirely on Atlassian's own infrastructure — no external servers, no data egress. That's the Runs on Atlassian standard, and a clean answer for security-conscious teams. Your schedules and templates are stored per-site and isolated by Atlassian.
